Our mission, (because we chose to accept it) is to offer disability support throughout South Tyneside. We’re here for people with learning difficulties, and disabilities, including autism support, offering access to work-based training that may lead to employment. To give them choice and control over their own lives, in reality – through deeds, not just words in a Government White Paper.

We understand great inequalities exist in the workplace and work based training. Whilst we can’t change the world (yet!), we can address this at a local level, in our community by offering disability support across South Tyneside,

We do this by enabling local people in South Shields and across South Tyneside to engage in activities in a therapeutic environment where they can participate and achieve results at a level and pace comfortable to them.

We provide access to meaningful and fun activities working with local community groups, enabling social integration and learning opportunities for everyone who joins us.

Behind the fun and activities there is real purpose. We don’t impose anything on our clients. We work with them to develop Person Centred opportunities to fulfil their ambitions to engage in work or activity, built around their personal needs and passions. Ultimately to support their development of professional and business skills.

At Holder House, we provide employment and volunteering opportunities for vulnerable adults, children and young carers throughout South Tyneside. We help them have more independence, choice, control and community engagement.
